He suffered a skull fracture a back head wound a left ankle fracture and elbow contusion. The incident occurred shortly after ten o'clock Wednesday morning as he stepped into the road to catch a bus. drivers claimed slow speed and no intent to strike. Two Toronto specialists saw him last night and advised against operation. condition unchanged at noon.

Cheque Crook Given Concurrent Three Year Terms
Ernest Gilbert Walker alias Trindel pleaded guilty to issuing worthless cheques and obtaining goods by false pretences in Barrie Police Court. Magistrate Jeffs ordered three years on each count to run concurrently. Walker, a ticket of leave man, was captured after a week long chase near New Lowell. He had prior conviction in 1921 at Sault Ste Marie. He attempted further frauds in Stayner and at C McCrea's store and Bank of Montreal with a non existent Shelburne account.
