Barrie Hospital Leads in Ontario Cost Per Day
A Barrie deputation pressed the Board of Control after praising the Royal Victoria Hospital and noting Dr Bruce Smith would send a Toronto patient to Barrie if ill. Dr Ferguson showed Ontario hospital costs rising from 7.13 to 1.08 dollars per patient, with Barrie at 96 cents per day, lower than Toronto and below the provincial average.

County Roads Grant Report Reveals 1907 Expenditure
Warden Boys Coun Japp and Cair man led a Toronto briefing on Simcoe County Roads annual report showing 44771.89 spent including 5849.63 on repairs and 11909.52 for a bridge. Department approval of bylaws is pending. Next year an engineer will supervise work. grant prospects appear limited. Train estimates provincewide appropriation only 1,000,000 with Simcoe likely to receive about 110,000 if paid in 1907.

Two Churches Reopened at Collier Street Methodist
The Collier Street Methodist Church reopened on Sunday December 3 after a $13000 remodel boosting seating to 1200 and adding a Greek cross plan with a three foot floor slope. Subscriptions topped 7110 with over 8000 pledged prior, clearing a school debt and funding further work. Reverend Williamson and Reverend Banton preached, Mrs Laidman led a large choir, and several memorial windows and gifts honored prominent locals.
