Early Melton cricket memories and community life
In a long reminiscence from English and colonial roots, the writer recalls early Melton cricket, local meetings, and social events. Names like McDonald, Hamilton J. V. Daulkington, and W. Winter appear among players and organizers. The piece covers the 19th century setting, the township railway push, and community gatherings with rain, creek flooding, and lively local sport.
