A Melbourne Punch inspired letter urges moving the Bridge factory to Bailey’s vicinity and concentrating milk flow from two factories for a nationwide refrigerated railway network. It argues the Bacchus station would better handle incoming and outgoing milk, supports rebuilding at a Millbank Street site, and promotes extensive dairy expansion across the Four Valleys region with rail connections to Corio Quay and markets. The piece stresses speed to capitalize on anticipated public and private building growth over five years and links the dairy push to broader imperial ambitions.
