Troop 320 GoesTo Camp Under Own LeadershipTroop 320 sponsored by the -Ivanhoe Community Methodist, has just returned from Camp Betz at Berrien Springs.: Michigan.This is the first year the | troop has gone to camp as a 1 chartered unit under its own ! leadership. Mr. Robert Bech-1 tolfc, the Camp Scoutmaster, was capably assisted by Eagle Scout Ernest Sutton: and Star Scouo Kenneth Soderquist.As Senior Patrol Leader and t Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, these scouts attended a special training course with s Senior Patrol Leadeis from other tioops the week pnor to the troop’s aruval at Camp i Betz.At the conclusion of this training, Ernest Sutton was I voted Outstanding Senior Pa-, trol Leader of the week ay the other Senior Patrol Leaders.I He also earned the Scout Lifeguard badge.next rank: fourteen merit badges were earned and fif- ; teen scouts partially com- * pie ted work on merit badges, j Lee Ekstrom earned the one mile swim badge and com-! pleted requirements lor first- j class scout. iWith the enthusiastic atti- j tude the scouts had at Camp j Betz and the interest the par- \ ents have shown, Troon 320 j is forward to a big 1961-2 t year.To Head BoyScout RiverdaleFinance DriveHerman H. Lentfer, 14106 State st., has been named toserve as the Community Campaign chairman for the Boy Scouts Finance Drive in Riverdale on Saturday, October 21.Mr. Lentfer is a Division Super*-Pendent for Acme Steel Company.Working with Mr. Lentfer as co-chairman is H. L. Flynn, 14201 Clark st.Members of the committee are: general enrollment chairman.Kenneth Soderquist earned ■his Lifesavmg Merit Badge and the Archery Merit Badge, which has been earned by only | five out of seventy scouts who j have tried out for it this year.1 The troop as a whole accomplished a great deal m the way of experience and advancement.
