Battle has accepted an invitation to make the principal address at public dedication exercises at 2 pm. Friday, September 29. at the James Wood High School.The announcement was made today by County Superintendent Robert E Aylor. who said school officials have been planning the dedicatory fete for several months as a major event in the history of the county school system.Started by the English Construction Company in May 1949 and accepted by the Frederick County School Board last June, the new $1 million school plant consolidates all of the high schools of the county and is in use for the first time this fall.Has 32 ClassroomsThe pretentious school plant contains 32 classrooms, 15 laboratories and shops, 7 offices, 10 special rooms, 9 music and clinic rooms, an auditorium, library and four related rooms, gymnasium and two related rooms, and a cafeteria and two related rooms.► The construction cost of $877. 7*0 plus equiptment that ran the final figure above $1 million has been financed by an 1800,000 Literary Loan together with an accumulation of funds from a special local school building levy adopted five years ago.Aylor will preside at the exercises which will be held in the James Wood auditorium.
