F. Wearin jr. for salvage purposes and will be razed.Fred J. Conrad, attorney for the League of Iowa Municipalities.the townwith jas. F. Martin in charge After a year he moved to Valparaiso, Neb. In 1890 Geo. Power* of Red Oak put in a dry goodsst0*\,with T- C. Jones as manager the Martin as clerk.In 1893 Mr. Logan of Red Oak and Mr. Martin went into partnership and occupied the store at the north. Mr. Jones later bough* (he Powers stock and moved to Sycamore, m.In 1898 Mr. Martin bought out Mr. Logans interest, rented the brick building and moved into it using both lower and upper rooms’ Mr. Bosbyshell put a bank in the rear of the building which later was known as the Botna Valiev State Bank.In 1909 Mr. Martin and son Fred built the brick building on the west side of the street which they occupied unUl 1932. The bank fixed the front part of the old building for its banking rooms, using them until 1933 when, as so many other banks did, it closed.Meeting closed with prayer. ■Ire. This is to explain why your letter has not been answered sooner.“There is nothing in the statutes of this state which would make it illegal or improper for a person who holds a beer permit to run for the office of mayor or to serve as mayor if he were elected.“Pursuant to your request, I am enclosing a carbon copy of this letter.Soon after this was used for the post office, with L. L. Creonwalt i as postmaster. When the post office was moved to its present location the brick building remained unoccupied. A telephone office was in the upstairs rooms at one time with Faye Blunt as operator.Sometime ago the north wall fell in and it was seen that the building would either have to be torn down or some extensive repairs made. With its sale, the former course is being followed.The old landmark will be missed in the Hastings community.
