hall a mock wedding was performed with Mrs. Whaley wearing a lace curtain for her wedding veil and wearing a beautiful corsage of 65th wedding anniversary orchids which were two-toned gold.Mr. Whaley wore a derby hat with a carnation in his button hole. Mrs. Bertha Clark of Lake* niece of both Mr. and Mrs. Whaley acted as flower girl and strewed fall flowers and oak leaves along the pathway to the altar where the bride* on the arm of her nephew, Rollain Sowle, of Eaton Rapids, who gave her away in marriage traveled to meet her groom.There she was attended by another niece of both Mr. and Mrs. Whaley, Mrs. Annabelle Tryon of n Lake, and the groom's attendant was her nephew Harley Hillard of Jackson. The minister was another nephew, Jesse Hyack of Jackson, wearing a stove pipe hat and reading the service from a magazine,Several relatives and friends that could not attend the dinner called in the afternoon to wish them happiness for many more years. A purse was taken up to buy ’ them a television set to help them enjoy themselves.Mr. and Mrs. Whaley have no children of their own but nieces,Mr. and Mrs. R, J. Kessler attended the opening of the Charlevoix county garage at Charlevoix, Wednesday where they enjoyed a love- j \ ly luncheon. They then went on far- j ther north into the upper part of tsai:cMichigan and enjoyed a scenic trip.The Ladies Missionary Society of the Lake Baptist Church met Wednesday with Mrs. Richard Bbll as hostess. There they learned that the Rev. and Mrs. Mack had reach- {3 ed Iowa safely and have already \ h purchased a home there where he j c has his new church.The Congregational church Carrie Smalley Circle of Clare met Wednesday evening with Mrs. Hilda Scott as hostess, in her home.Mi's. Eugene Crosby was hostess to a group of ladies Thursday morning at a breakfast party. All enjoyed themselves immensely.Mrs. Minnie Gilman came home Sunday after a couple of weeks visit with her son, Royal and family at Shepher-d.Mrs. J. B.
