It is entitled “ Epicharis The plot and story are built upon that portion of Roman history, so eloquently and circumstantially related by Tacitus, in which the life of Nero was dangerously conspired against by a celebrated family in Rome of the name of Piso. Epicharis, who is deeply involved in the conspiracy, and refuses to confess the associates of her guilt, though exposed to the greatest torments, will be personated by Miss Phillips, and those who have been present at the rehearsal anticipate that this character will be equally effective as “ old RienzTs daughter.” Cooper performs the character of Nero,, and Young, Svbrius Flavins, Wallack represents the daring conspirator Piso. The tragedy is said to abound with highly-wrought poetical passages, and is full of interest and dramatic situations.
