IMr. Mrs. Warren Hammer to Observe Golden Wedding Anniversary SundayMR, MRS. W. HAMMERi11•1:\tnIIrye3ueki..1Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hammer, long-time residents of the Union area, will celebrate their Golden Wedding Sunday, Nov. 27 from 2-5 p.m. The anniversary celebration will take place in the Community Church parlors in Union,Georgia Walton and Warren Hammer were married Nov. 30, 1910 in a double wedding with Fletcher Hash and Lottie Smith. The double ceremony 'took place where Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Huston now reside. The Rev. Henry Hickman of the Stanford Friends Church, at that time, officiated.During their marriage-, the Hammers have farmed three farms. They moved to their home in the northeast corner of Union 28 years ago, after Mr. Hammer bVoke his hip while haying. Since moving to town, Mr. Hammer has operated a trucking business with his brother, Vern Hammer, in Uniori.The Hammers have two children, Donald E. Hammer and Fern (Mrs. Ralph Beecher), both of Denver, Colo. -Mr. and Mrs. Hammer have four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.According to Mrs. Ralph Beecher, everyone is invited to attend the Open House, as invitations have been sent only to those friends and relatives who live away from this community. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hammer of Union, the bride's sister and the bridegroom’s brother, were present at the wedding 50 years ago and will be attending the an- , niversary. Others present, who attended the wedding, will be Mr. Ruby Bailey of near Hubbard: Mrs. Horace Ridgeway of Nevada. Mrs. Ridgeway is the former Miss Elizabeth Welch; and Mrs. Elizabeth Brown of Marshalltown, she is the formerMii Elizabeth (Stella) Schultz.Deeorations for the reception will be gold predominantly. The serving table will be decorated with a Bible Book cake. Mrs. Vern Hammer will be pouring, Mrs. Paul Clenney of Union will be dining room hostess; and Mrs. Loyd Beecher and Mrs. George Hammer, both of Union, will assist with the serving.A floral bouquet will decoratethe gift table. The gifts will becared for by Mrs. Stanley Jels-ma of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. James WaJton of Union, both granddaughters of the honored couple. A grandson, Lynn Beecher of Denver, Colo., will be at the guest book.Those assisting with the reception will be Mrs. Herman Jelsma of New Providence; Mrs. Elda Cummins, Mrs. Clint Brace, Mrs. Lloyd Reece and Mrs. Ralph Hiisabeck, all of Union, and Mrs. Earl Hobson of Lis-comb.Those relatives attending from Denver, Colo, will be Mr. and Mrs. Don Hammer; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jelsma, Steve, Sandra and Scott; Lynn Beecher and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Beecher. Home at Mason City. More lap robes were started.
