Doney, Sr., was born at Seven Mile, Ohio, August 9, 1852,the second son of William and Eiixa Doney.Oil May 18, 1871, fifty-seven years ago, at the age of 19, with his father and family he removed to Cambridge City, Indiana, where he has since lived, being engaged in the cigar manufacturing business with his father and brothera Charles and William until 1900, after which he engaged in the real estaw and insurance business until retiring a few years ago.He was united in marriage to Saraah Ann Hain of this city, June 24, 1877, and to them were born six children, three girls and three boys, Alice Locke of Cambridge City; William, Charles of Lewisville, Mildred at home, George of Minneapolis, Minn., and Katherine Kelley of Piqua, Ohio, all of whom survive him except William who died at the age of five months. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Lucille and Mildred Locke, Wendell Kelley and Charles P. Doney Jr. His wife preceded him in death on December 21, 1917.In his father's family, besides his parents, three brothers, John, James and Charles preceded him in death, being survived by one brother, William H. Doney of this city.Services were held at the home Friday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Dwight Miley, pastor of the Lutheran church at , Gerniantown.
