The Oliver Baker*’ 25th Observed SundayA group of about 75 relatives and friends gathered at the Polk Community Hall on Sunday, May 23, in honor of Mr and Mrs Oliver Baker’s 25th anniversary.Col. Cyril Dean Sterner of Lincoln was master of ceremonies for the occasion. Col. Sterner reminisced about past events in the honored couple’s life. Mr and Mrs Ron Adams favored the group with two musical numbers. ,The Polk Community Players, which featured grand nieces and nephews of Mrs Baker, performed a mock wedding. At the end of the program the group enjoyed slides which included pictures of the couple’s wedding.The special day was concluded with a carry-in buffet dinner. A lovely three tiered anniversary cake was on the serving table.Guests came from Hastings, Lincoln. Columbus, Schuyler, Doniphan, York and Benedict.The couple was presented with many nice cards and gifts.
