Golden Wedding.Tuesday marked the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Elihu Thomas, and the occasion was celebrated at their elegant home on North Broadway by a family dinner, their children. Mrs. Ed Siling, Marsh and Will Thomas and their families, to-| gether with a few other relatives andj intimate friends being present, k; On March 26, 1857, Elihu Thomas 1 and Miss Emily Ann McConnell were h united in marriage, and for a half - century have lived happily together.I’Sou ire Hue ben Thomas and wife, ie parents of Elihu Thomas, came from it Virginia to Decatur county in 1830,and settled on a farm. Elihu Thomas l* | made farming his profession for many 5- t years, when he retired and engaged » in the carpentering business. He '■e has made a success of life financially and otherwise, and now owns the valuable residence property in which . he resides and a splendid farm just west of the city for which he has refused the cash otfer of $35,000.Mrs Elihu Thomas was the daugh-* I ter of Mr. and Mrs* John Mc€oaell* early pioneers of Decatur county.Mr. Thomas is seventy-three anda Mrs. Thomas is seventy years old. a Both are among Decatur county's h best known and most highly respected citizens, and it is the wish of all who e know them that they may be spared to |, 1 continue the enjoyment of each others v company and that of their many friends for years to come.
