OBITUARY.Daniel Duckwall Marsh, son of Thomas Marsh and Phoebe Duck-wall, was born October 13, 1838, and died February 24, 1914, aged 76 years, 4 months and 11 days. The. ehileren of Thomas Marsh were Daniel D., the deceased, May Marsh Mull, who died some years since, and Mahlon Marsh, of Washington, D. C., who because of the heavy snow storm and impeded traffic of the railroads, is not able to be present on this occasion. Until within the last two years Daniel D. Marsh was a man with a very rugged constitution. No day was too stormy or too cold for him to go when his labors required it. His ancestors were of the sturdy pioneers of Clermont county. In 1809 three Marsh brothers settled in Clermont county, Richard, Thomas and John. Richard Marsh, grandfather of the deceased, settled near Owensville, on what is now known as The Clermont County Agricul tural Experiment Farm. The two brothers of Richard Marsh settled in the south part of the county, Thomas near Nicholsville and John near Laurel. On the farm on which his grandfather settled and where his father was born, Daniel D. was born and it was his home in boyhood, manhood and part of his old age, in all about 70 years on the old homestead. He was robust in frame, a hard worker, energetic in all his undertakings, very indulgent to his children, progressive in thought and action and a law-abiding citizen. He served the people of his native county in public office with credit tp himself and honor to the county. His friends were many and his enemies few. He was married to Addie P. Holter, February 19, 1861, by Rev. T. A. G. Phillip, an uncle of the bride. Of this union were born four children, Kate M., who died October 19, 1884; Prof. A. T. Marsh, of the Cincinnati schools; Mrs. Anna Dietz, of Batavia, wife of Christopher Dietz, and Dr. H. H. Marsh, of Seven Mile, Butler county, Ohio.
