Chestnut Park cn the Hallowell read, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Tibbetts, was the scene of a very happy occasion on Thursday evening, Jan. 1, when neighbors and friends assembled to help Mr. and Mrs. Tibbetts celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The evening was passed in card playing and a social way with story telling. Mr. Tibbetts told how on his wedding day he worked until noon, then walked ten miles through heavy sncw which had fallen the night before, arriving at the home of his prospective bride where the wedding ceremony was performed at 8.30 in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Tibbetts received gifts of gold and a variety of other remembrances from their friends.Refreshments were served and a beautifully deccrated cake the gift of Mrs. Clarence Anderson, was cut by Mrs. Tibbetts and served to the guests. At a late hour the party broke up wishing Mr. and Mrs. Tibbetts mary more years of happy wedded life and with expressions of a happy time spent with them on their golden wedding day.Mrs. Tibbetts was Miss Clara Wright daughter of the late John and Agnes
