Among them were Captain Herbert Schaefer and Lieutenant J. Steward Davis, both are members of the 351st Colored Field Artillery.Lieut. Davis is widely known in Harrisburg. He is the son of Mrs. Anna Davis, 1511 Derry street, a.nd was graduated from the Central High School, Dickinson College and Dickinson I.aw school. Previous to Ills enlistment, he practiced law In BaltimoreHe enlisted in October, 1917. He secured his commission in the Field Artillery following a course of instruction at the Central Officers' Training School at Camp Zachary Taylor, Kentucky.
