Lorain downs Sandusky, 83-68LORAIN — Lorain came back from a first quarter deficit to defeat Sandusky 83-68 last night in a Buckeye Conference contest.The Steelmen had five players scoring in double figures with Brad Frank leading the winners with 23 points. Others were Mike Drvodelieh with 20, Jim Stringfellow with 14. Chad Saladin with 12 and Corey Cunningham with 10.Lorain hit 19 of 30 attempts from the free throw line, all of them in the second half. From the field the Steelmen hit slightly under 50 percent on 32 goals in 65 attempts.Scott May hit 32 for the losers. 14 of them coming in the third period. Willie Jordan had 10 points for the Blue Streaks. Sandusky hit 30 of 71 attempts from the field.Sandusky jumped to a 16-9 lead in the first quarter but scored only nine points to Lorain’s 23 in the second period. Both teams scored nearly equal in the third period but the Steelmen again outscored the Streaksin the final frame.Sandusky also had 24 turnovers which lead directly to 23 points for the winners.
