COTTSDALE**... 10 years agoThe Junior Chamber M Commerce's “Whiskerino contest/* part pi the- annual Parada del Sol, opened officially on Friday, Dec. 7. Gene Carr, chairman of the 1957 Parada del Sol, announced the names of his assistants:Fred .Hannum, Jack McMahon, Bill Bratt; Manley Fox and Les Matlock.. The Scottsdale Women’s Club announced plans for the Chryscolla Ball, set for Dec. 15 at Paradise Inn. The event was arranged as a benefit for the Scottsdale'Public Library, according to Mrs. John B. Slocum, president of the club,and Mrs. Don Tintary, chairman of the dance committee.Frances Ryley, a senior at Scottsdale H i g h School, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ryley, 4453 E. Flower, won the annual Daughters of the American Revolutionpawkrd. She was entered in the state contest.*Scottsdale’s town boundaries were extended again with the annexation of a strip south of Indian School Rd., just west of 65th St. The west bofindary is just east of 62nd St. The area was approximately- 700 feet wide.
