Surdams mark 40th anniversaryMere than 100 frioids and relatives gathered Nov. 6 at the Moose lodge for a surprise 40th wedding anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. Milton E. Surdam Sr., given by their four children, Milton Jr., Margo Bartlett, Marilyn Holland and MeredithMr. and Mrs.Mflton E. Surdam Sr.cake, and Canmon Courtesy evening was the appearance d Band provided dancing music. Beth Green, who teachesSurdam.Mrs. Surdam is the former Maddine Champine. daughter of Alma Champine of Woodford and the late Oscar Champine. The late Mr. and Mrs. Milo Surdam were Mr. Surdam's parents.They were married Nov. 16, 1936 at the Hoosick Falls, N.Y., United Methodist Church by the Rev. Howard L. Stilmmel. Their attendants were Claude Eastman of Shaftsbury and the late Bessie Marshall, sister of Mr. Surdam.A buffet was catered by their daughters, and their granddaughter, Lisa Hall of Hoosick Falls, passed the guest book. They received money and many gifts and remembrances. A floral centerpiece containing 40 SI bills was prepared by the Gift Garden, who also did other floral arrangements Bertha Jones of Bennington prepared the three-tiered anniversaryOne of the highlights of thebellydancing at the Recreation Center. The couple’s 15 grandchildren were also on hand.
