The Albany Water Board met after a county meeting Monday night with Chairman Mr WJ Day and Councillors Baleton Downes Forte Dixon Miles and Waight and secretary Mr Poole present. The district engineer noted wooden pipes on the water main and requisitioned 25 cast iron collars and 2 cwt of lead wool with a plan to fix joints early. Lead wool was unavailable in Perth and two cwt of lead wool were ordered if available. The chairman said joints were bad though wooden pipes were in good order and no leaks found. Water pumped last month reached 3 847 000 gallons, a daily average of 137 000, up from 121 000 due to dry weather and higher shipping demand. Pump operated 143 hours. 60 cords of wood stock remained at the pumping station. Accounts totaling £1204 4/10 were approved for payment.
A very pretty wedding took place on Saturday for Mr Rushton and Miss L Todd in the Anglican Church with Archdeacon Louch officiating.
