The local Naval Welcome Committee hosted a children’s ball at Wave in the Town Hall on Thursday night. Despite the effort to entertain the Bays in Blue, attendance by children and adults was lower than expected, though those present enjoyed dancing and games until 11.30, with a supper served in the lower hall. Prizes for fancy dresses went to Baby Smith Persian Lady BE Ruet Tranayi Daphne Woollett Fairy while Dorothy Grein Kewpig received a special award.
