Large assortment of new and splendid beving received at the Adelaide Times Office. The proprietor offers news execution book-work and any letter-press printing in a style equal or superior to other offices in the colony on competitive terms. Adelaide Times Office is over the door, opposite the Adelaide Commercial Exchange.
An 1848 notice promotes S and T Sharwood as suppliers to printers and binders in British colonies, listing bodies of equipment from Austin types to Columbian and Albion presses and lithography gear. It also advertises price lists and specimen books by mail. A letter from Benjamin Mackie praises Ho lloway pills curing asthma after three years, with chest ointment application details.
Extensive listing of goods from Milroy and Sons Blyth including boots, harness, wool packing press, and a vast range of apparel. Firms advertise Hockin's salts Seidlitz powders sardines olives sauces and fabrics from blue serge to cashmere with coats waists caps and bags. ABRAHAM SCOTT at Blyth's Buildings promotes a screw press for wool and hay pressing.
The notice lists age based fees for board under twelve and over twelve, plus courses in navigation with journal at sea method, timekeepers, meridian and double altitudes. It includes fees for the Lunar Observations, languages and other subjects, washing, and vacation residence charges. References are given to several clergymen and Gentlemen, with prospectuses available at the Adelaide Trues office.
In 1845 Rambler won the Town Plate at Launceston beating several rivals and ran second for the Ladies P urse. He also won the All Age Stakes with fourteen starters, and on New Year’s Day he defeated Colonel in a £500 match, then opened to £1000 against any colony horse. Sold to Thomas Archer for 500 guineas, he has since stood for covering and is praised as the best bred horse in the Province. Terms £3 3s per mare with 3s groomage due by January 1 1851. Paddocks at 2s weekly, care taken, no liability. Applications to Mr Benjamer Greic Hindley Street or Jas Bassinctawaire. Ramaze had eighty three mares last year. seventy eight proved in foal.
His superior Waggon Stallion will stand this season at the Hindmarsh Bridge Hotel and every Saturday afternoon at the Black Bull Hindley Street Adelaide. On Tuesday the stallion will stand at ue Gradya Cross Keys New Inn Dry Creek.
Mares will be served at Royal Exchange stables in Adelaide or at Mr William Malcolm's Wymonds bury Reed Beds. Five guineas per mare with grooming included. An allowance for sending three or four mares. Mares cared for in well grassed paddocks with watering. No responsibility. Three shillings weekly, payable before removal.
