An Adelaide Times Office advertises printing services for newspapers and other letter-press work. The notice notes proprietors now print and offer extensive assortments, opposing competition. The office is located opposite the Adelaide Commercial Exchange.
A long list advertises British Empire goods from Calas 1850 and other late arrivals including boots, shoes, clothing, and harness. Also promoted are a charity style ball at the Clarendon with tickets 7s 6d, refreshments, music by local musicians, and a union of trade brethren organizing the event.
Tenders due September 30 for erection of nine dwellings at Glen Osmond. Details at E W Wright's Exchange Buildings office, where T W Gloystein is the receiver. Ramucen the celebrated racehorse will stand at Wakefield Street residence with Taseier at Black Bull Stables each Saturday. Ramoven described as a large, sound bay stallion with proven performance and breeding. terms £3 9s per mare with 3s groomage due by January 1, 1851.
Description notes Isa as a six year old dark brown horse with black points, standing sixteen hands one inch, a sure foal getter whose stock is well known. Mr Greig allows reference to his stock. A book accompanies the horse and parties must sign on serving. Terms two pounds five and two shillings sixpence groomage. James Chambers July 22 1850.
SHAPE BONE AND STRENGTH SAMPSON ITs SUPERIOR WAGGON STALLION will start this season at Hindmorsh Bridge Hotel every Saturday at the Black Bull Hinley street Adelaide and on Tuesday at Mt. Bradys Cross Keys New Inn Dry Creek Sampson is a dark bay with black points by Lincoln out of 9 year old Clydesdale mare imported into Vandiamen's Lana by De Wilmore. Sampson took first prize at Campbell Town 1844 as best three year old stallion and was sold to Mr Collett New River for 540 guineas. He is quiet and considered the finest horse in the province and a sure trotter. Terms 223 pounds each more. 3. DIX. All payments on or before January 1 1851. Egremont, imported horse Old Little Jahn by Moss Rose and Wanderer sire, won the Lameesinn St Ludges against seven rivals. In the same year he captured the Government Plate at Catlonia beating Coronet and Amelia. Stakes at Milton meet noted.
Cantab a thoroughbred colt from Fuglsid to New South Wales sold to Mr George I Pin by Hl. H. Rater Ear aboard the ship Euphrater in 1899. At 18 months he is a bright bay with strong muscular power and exceptional symmetry. R Scott of Glendon sold Cantab stock at high prices in India and notes Cantab’s foals are racinglike and many winners.
Mr Coppin introduces Vanzan to South Australian breeders of horse stock praising his potential. The Annual Cup of 40 to 50 guineas for Welter Weights, funded by Mr Coppin, will in 1853 be set aside for Cantabra stock and overseen by the South Australian Jockey Club.
Marks Ave announces a large arrival of spring goods from the Duke of Portland Bengal and Glory Queen. The catalog includes dresses, shawls, laces, parasols, bonnets, stays, muslins, silks, and babyier wear. Also featured are gloves, hats, Manchester goods, prints, calicoes, and longcloths for country customers.
