Cobden Warms to Justice as Captain Smith Accused
In a House of Commons debate last week Mr Cobden denounced Captain Aaron Smith as a calumniated witness in piracy cases. He urged proof, warned of personal threats, and defended Smith’s character against Garbett who offered to present facts in writing. Garbett replied, detailing Smith’s past as prisoner and later acquittal, while Cobden pressed for public accountability and justice.
