A brief notice records that a message or order has been received at the printing office. The fragment indicates a procedural transmission or receipt related to general printing operations.
In Adelaide at Mr Neales's Office the committee resolved to advertise for subscriptions to cover expenses for obtaining signatures to Aviation Memorials. The Chairman will write to W Westgarth MLC and Gilbert Wright in Sydney, advise on petitions and signatures, and coordinate with Lowe and Michie in London to forward SA petitions by direct ship.
A public meeting held March 5 1851 at Aldinga Hotel Maclaren Vale resolved to oppose the old land tax. It condemned the District Road Commissioners for enforcing the old rate and pledged to resist. A subscription fund was created to cover defense costs with Mr Lund as treasurer and a four member committee Norman Lovelock Oliver Balderstone.
An early notice introduces Mr Nathanael Sharp’s epic poem under the title TO POSTERITY and notes it as the first poetical work of pretensions from South Australia. The extract is said to come from Tae Moxan, an unpublished epic, with a request for candour and merit-based appreciation.
