Adelaide May 19 1849 advertisement reports Mesers Biines Brothers Co opening a hotel with abundant wines spirits English ale and porter. Extensive improvements promised for comfort and convenience. The advertiser also notes a long-standing furniture business on the same street offering wholesale furniture and related goods.
An advertisement from Maugham's Carrara Water issues thanks for past support and announces expanded stock and distribution. It touts medicinal benefits for indigestion, heartburn, and stomach disorders, with testimonials from Plymouth and Dover papers. The notice notes 90,000 bottles on hand and plans to extend the business from Chester Street, Grosvenor Place, August 1843.
Mr. W Wallace informs the residents of Adelaide that he has sent to London for several sign of fortem of the finest description. They will be elected by his brother Mr W W Wallace and bear his signature as authentication for excellence. Ladies and gentlemen wishing to purchase are asked to communicate with Mr W S Wallace at the New Exchange King William Street Adelaide July 8th 1849.
