A crowded 1850s newspaper fragment lists Adelaide Times Office printing capabilities offering letter press services and bookwork, then notes freighting lines with Captain and A L Elder and Co. Also advertised Empress tea cargo, China mats, goods from Singapore, wines, and elegant cloth covers, plus a reward for a stray bay pony found near June 1850.
Pies, a well known horse, will stand to cover this season at Norman's Willaston Hotel adjoining Gawler Town and at several race venues on specified days. The stallion is dark brown with black points, sixteen hands high, six years old, a proven foal getter. Mr B Greig grants reference to his stock. Terms £2 2s 2s 6d. Signed Jas Chasers July 22 1840.
A catalog of fabrics and trims including 50 pieces blue white and pink Saxony and Welsh flannels, 50 woollen plairls, black satin and Indian satinettes, black watered silk, 50 pieces black and coloured velvets and plushes, 800 pieces satin silk gauze caps bonnets, artificial flowers, capes, habit shirts and collars, 80 pieces black and coloured broad cloth, 50 buckskins 16 doeskins and 200 white counterpanca.

It references ailments and symptoms attributed to horses including Anflameantion Jaundice and secondary symptoms, with casual notes on ailments and care. The record reads as an OCR snippet from a veterinary or listings page.
CANTAB a thoroughbred horse imported from England to New South Wales by H. Hi. Kater in 1839 on the Euphrates, then 18 months old, sold through several hands ending with Mr R. Scott of Glendon. Known for strong racing stock and notable size.
The notice requires payments by August 1 for the Ml account in Milton. The document, dated July 27, 1850, references a mid year settlement and specifies the debtor Milton. It reads as a general financial due reminder from the era.
