Samson Wicksteed and Co announce sales at their Mart on Saturday August 10 1850 at 12 o'clock. Items include twelve dozen spades water damaged and other goods. Three land sections numbered 38 and 140 in the Hundred of Cox's Creek near a sawmill site, with timber trade potential highlighted.
By order of the mortgagees the Clarendon Hotel property on Town Acre No 6 is offered for sale at the Mart on Saturday August 1850 at 12 o'clock with a preliminary sale of miscellaneous goods at 11. The lease runs seven years from April 28 1849 and the occupier Salvator agrees to join in conveyance and transfer the license to the purchaser or nominee at the next magistrates meeting if requested. Furniture and stock to be included.
On August 21 and 22 a public auction in Hindley Street, Adelaide, will feature an enormous lot of items including steel and copper goods, paintings, firearms, clocks, frames, porcelain, and everyday household wares. E Solomon & Co. promote wool, produce, and colonial goods sales with a new weekly wool and produce plan and 30 day rent free storage.
Samuel Bottomley will attend the Government Yards on Saturdays to sell by auction a wide range of goods including Deeskin trainers, pilot cloth items, gowns, beaver hats, groceries, canary seed, pickles, barley, tea, sheep shears, nails, braces, shovels, knives, razors, brushes, glassware, decanters, wines, cordials, hosiery, gloves, lace, ribbons, and sundries such as backgammon boards and hotel supplies along with cattle and stock-in-trade items.
