After three years of municipal partnership the people of Allandale have voted to secede from the town of Barrie by 67 votes to 7. The issue is chronicled alongside notes on wool sales, total solar eclipse plans for 1900, and imperial politics, including reactions to the Dreyfus trial and colonial tensions over the French shore.
Rev T Albert Moord of Zion Tabernacle Hamilton to preach anniversary sermons at Pelermo Methodist Church next Sunday. Autumn Assized Court scheduled for Monday October 0th. The recent heavy rain aids fall ploughing and prompts farmers to rush work while planning to harvest potatoes this week. Naasagawoya Fall Fair is set for October 17 at Campbellville. Guelph Central Fair visitors from the area included several township farmers. A horse died at the Western Hotel stables and another team from John Taylor, Jr. collided with a pole after a runaway caused injuries. the incident stemmed from a broken whiffletree and wagon tongue.
