Acton Fair Celebrates 1931 Success and Crowded Events

Barn Fire Destroys Farm Buildings and Equipment
Last Friday the barn on the Fred Haptie farm at lot 10 Erin was destroyed by fire. The threshing machine owned by Oscar Locker and most equipment were lost, with a hay mower and calf saved. The cause is undetermined but a spark from the separator is suspected. Mr Wood and others struggled to escape as flames trapped stock in the stable.

Milton Loses First Playoff Game to Rodney 4 1
Milton suffers a 4 to 1 defeat in the playoff opener at County Town as Rodney edges ahead with solid fielding and two Milton errors.
