Enrollment at Acton Continuation and Public Schools shows about 400 children in attendance this year. The Continuation School reports 102 pupils in various grades while the Public School totals 300 with 140 beginners in Grade 1.

Milton publisher John W. Blight dies at 76
John W. Blight longtime co owner and publisher of The Milton Champion since 1927 died last Thursday in Hamilton General Hospital at about seventy seven. He led Milton’s paper for over six decades and was active in church affairs and the Fire Brigade. Widow Margaret MacEachern survives. funeral followed a Saturday service at his Charles Street home and interment was in Evergreen Cemetery Milton.

Local Acton residents share a clipping from an English paper about the Mosquito bomber named "Acton, Ont." It was flown by Royal Canadian Air Force crew Flying Officer J. G. Uren and Flying Officer R. C. Bevington on a 14 hour 44 minute journey from Greenland to Britain. The Fourth Victory Loan boosted Acton in the war effort and residents pledge support for the Fifth Loan to keep Acton prominent in the fight.
