Acton’s YMCA hosted the second blood donor clinic Tuesday with 87 donors. About 400 cc per person on average was donated, aided by volunteers including Miss Fallon and Mrs. Hicks, nurses in charge, along with a large list of donors from Acton and surrounding areas.

A large social at Town Hall Saturday night honored the Wool Combing Corporation night shift winning the Barnby Cup. Over 300 attendees including day staff from the Canadian Wool Co. joined in dances with the Merry Makers providing music. The event was praised as a fine gathering and it felt too short.

Plants Beardmore Wool Combing Storey Grove Masani Knitting Baxter Laboratories supplied books to employees off site. Town Hall distribution stayed busy four days ending with a late Saturday.
