Doris Woods was elected president of the Ospringe Sleeping Sew and Sews at their inaugural Saturday evening meeting hosted by Calvin Feans. Hallowe'en Garb Display at Circle

The Friendly Circle met October 18 at Mrs. Garnet McKenzie's home for a Halloween party. Members wore costumes and prizes went to Dorothy Rognvaldson for Rule Britannia and Verna Bean for a comic creation. Obituary: Mr G J Chapman Dies in 86th Year

Mr Chapman died in his eighty sixth year after a long, quiet life on Main Street. He lived for many years in Newcastle upon Tyne, worked 33 years for Beantmore and Co, supported St Alban's Church, and is survived by his widow Stayner, daughter Madge, son-in-law Fergus, two grandchildren Kas Pfaff and John Chapman, and four great grandchildren. Funeral was held October 10 at St Alban's with private service at Victor Rumbley Funeral Home, interment in Fairview Cemetery.
