Delivery wagon and milk upset on Church Street
Last Thursday morning a delivery wagon and its load of milk overturned after the wheel stuck on Church Street. Lorne Maes ales was in the wagon and was rescued by Joe Woods, who was nearby. The wagon was smashed beyond repair and Maes ales was drenched in milk.

The Sunday service at Acton Baptist Church celebrated its 101st anniversary with Rev H E Morphy of King Street Baptist Church as guest speaker. Morning sermon on Matthew 28 focused on faith amid life storms, evening message titled A Royal Refusal urged temperance. Knox Church Choir and friends gathered at the Manse for a social evening with humorous readings by Mrs. Dessureault and Mr. Kirknessz. Scotty Burton led Loch Lomond, a quartet sang, gifts were presented to Mrs. Howard Switzer and Mrs. Norman Wright, and Mr. F. J. Salt was honored for years of service as organist and choir leader.

The October Knox Y W A meeting was held at Mrs Fred Anderson's home with President Mrs R O Hara in charge. Devorotions were by Mrs H L Walton and Mrs H L Price. Reports praised the rummage sale and afternoon tea in the Council Chambers. Plans were made for a fall bank offering in November with Miss Frelda Matthews speaker.
