Assessor Ford reported Halton's population reached 106 017 as of September 1959, a record one year rise of 10 404. Burlington, Trafalgar and Georgetown saw the largest increases while Oakville and other areas varied. Guides Plant 300 Tulip Bulbs in Acton Ceremony
Three hundred tulip bulbs were planted by guides from Acton Company at the three Acton schools on Saturday to commemorate the 50th year of guiding in Canada. The event called River of Gold displayed golden blooms as other centres joined the ceremony.
