Police reported the theft of six geese from C. F Penson’s garage on No. 7 highway east of Acton valued at about 50 dollars. The Mayors’ mud plowing contest at Breslau drew thousands as Acton Mayor Ted Tyler and competitor Mayor W. E. Cowley of Tilbury vied for the trophy with heavy ground and rain.

A fatal blaze destroyed a small frame dwelling on Brantford outskirts early Sunday. Rockwood woman Mrs Kathleen Scarrow, aged 7?, and her children Jimmy five Patsy one Gordon three died. Mrs Elwood Hall, Mr and Mrs Herbert Scarrow survived in their section of the house. Mr Scarrow is 78. Mrs Scarrow is his wife.
