Esquesing Council Passes By law to Regulate Building
Esquesing Township council met Monday afternoon with full attendance led by Reeve G G E Cleave. A by law to regulate erection and safety of buildings was discussed and passed with A W Benton appointed building inspector. The meeting approved various accounts and accepted RH Thompson bid of 475 for stoker equipment plus 60 for extra gear. Council adjourned to November 1.

Rotary Club Supports Local Projects in Acton
The Acton Rotary Club at the weekly luncheon donated 500 dollars to the Acton Community Swimming Pool and 300 dollars to Acton YMCA. These gifts are part of a two week discussion on community projects. The pool fund contributions go toward a 10 thousand dollar general canvas goal.

Five Young Men Appear in Court Robbery Attempt
Five young men charged with an attempted robbery of D. A. Allan Bronte druggist on October 2 appeared before Magistrate Kenneth M. Langdon in County Magistrate's Court Milton. They were Buddy Rogers Smith Joseph Rick Rebeck Edward Douglas McMann Joseph Steven Grebski and Frederick Philip Jackson all from Ontario and Toronto. They were remanded to October 20 as the Crown sought a week adjournment.

Acton Public Utilities Discuss Repairs and Power Savings
The Acton Public Unilimited Commission met Tuesday with full attendance. They approved repairing the waterworks truck and repainting, planned distribution of pamphlets to households about water heating, invited YMCA Board members to discuss rental, and enacted a rule limiting store lights after hours. Power savings were noted with one department working Saturday. accounts were approved totaling 421.72, with Waterworks power at Spring 51.08 and Empire Brass 97.00. A new US A super magazine is planned for January at 150 per year.
