Erin Fair Has Another Splendid Success This Year
Despite threatening weather, the Erin Agricultural Society hosted the largest fair on record with exhibitors from Western and Central Ontario. Improvements to the fair grounds include new sheep and swine pens, and baking butter and dressed poultry exhibits were shown. Arnold Daroeh, Warden of Wellington County, opened the fair praising fairs for education and social value as the Acton Citizens' Band played.

Halton Plowmen Set for International Plowing Match Near Brockville
The annual International Plowing Match near Brockville expects about 100000 spectators. Halton County will be represented in tractor and walking plow classes by Harold Picket Hornby Spencer Wilson Norval and Wellington in tractors Claude Picket Leonard Lister Stanley Fuller and Kenneth Brown of Hornby Grantér and Jack Taylor of Freeman and Ivan Taylor of Moffat in walking plow. Grant Baker Ivan Taylor and Leonard Lister will join the Inter-County Team open to three boys under 20. The prize list was released with Bethel United Church ladies catering the banquet on Friday November 3. The No Handling Class returns limited to first time plowers and the tractor class is Halton only.

Inter-School Field Day crowns Milton at Georgetown meet
Milton, Georgetown and Acton contestants earned top marks at the Inter-School Meet held in Georgetown. Girls champions were Margaret MacNabb and Helen Devereaux of Milton with 20 and 26 points, while Mary Cummins of Georgetown had 24 points. Boys titles went to R Clements of Milton, J Cofell of Georgetown, and J Cookman of Milton with 36, 32 and 28 points respectively.

Rockwood Town Council met with Reeve D D Gray and councilors to discuss bylaw 9 for nominations on December 22 and New Year’s Day. The Acton and District Legion will receive a 15 dollar grant.
