Acton War Services League Formed for War Relief
Acton and District organizations unite to form the Acton and Vicinity War Services League under the War Charities Act. The group will collect salvaged goods, knitters will supply wool, and funds raised from salvage and activities will fund comforts for British sailors and troops overseas. A Bingo event on October 16 kicks off efforts at the Town Hall with volunteers coordinating salvage work and distribution.

Acton Women's Institute held an October meeting at Mrs. J. E. Gamble's Crescentvilla home with Mrs. F. J. Wilds in charge. They donated 10 to Ten-Acton Fare Paris fund for London Sick Children's Hospital and 24 to Acton district War Service and school funds. Bertha M. Wilson received a life membership amid tributes from Mrs. J. F. Wilds and Mrs. Gamble. Mins Ariss of Guelph spoke on WI work, followed by encouragement from Mra. Merse Jon and others. A half hour of fellowship concluded with Mizpah Benediction.

Council Sets 1942 Assessment Revision Court Date
The council met in a special session to fix the date for the Court of Revision on the recently completed 1942 assessment. They authorized the Acton Branch of the Canadian Legion to arrange a wreath and ceremonies for the Remembrance Day Service.
