Acton Council Reviews New Resuscitator and By Law Changes
At a special Acton Council and Fire Department meeting Mayor Mason presided as councillors viewed a demonstration of a new resuscitator. Debates covered who should access the device, sewer complaints, rock and stone placements, and a by law parking change near Main and Mill Streets. The first reading of a street official status for Agnes Street was given and an amendment to garage zoning approved before adjournment around 2 am.

Brookville Township clerk and returning officer presided, naming WM Van Sickle for reeve. JF Ellenton and ROM Storey withdrew. Ellenton filled the post by acclamation. Griffin and Son dominated the Royal Winter Fair with a Reserve Championship in the commercial potatoes class among nearly 200 entries. They also earned two second prizes, a third, and a seventh in commercial potatoes, plus a first prize in certified seed Katahdins and ninth in Irish Cobblera. Young Y Members To Swim at Guelph
Regular swimming excursions at the Guelph Y are planned to begin on a Wednesday in December with the girls taking part. Each second Wednesday afterward the group will swim on Tuesday December Vth and then every second Tuesday. Local Men’s Club will organize transportation with help from local owners.
