Religious notices list Sunday services at Acton Pentecostal church with morning sermon A Great Victory and evening events. Also at Faston Porsyth Wellington Street a New meat Gambler sermon and youth activities and prayer meetings scheduled through the week.
The November board meeting notes 211.00 gross receipts from student concerts with 23.22 expenses. Trustees Hayll and Aimen to buy a piano with teachers arranging placement. A 50.03 accounting line includes repairs and supplies. The ceremony for diplomas and medals to follow at the high school commencement.
The community gathered Monday evening for nominations for town offices. Acting Clerk Miss L M Reid announced multiple candidates for council, public school trustees, and public utilities, with speeches from incumbents and nominees on past work and future plans. Local residents attended, spoke, and offered support for re nominations as the meeting proceeded.
Council met Tuesday evening with Harri Pee Thetford Hansen and Dr Nelson present. The twenty fourth alliance committee report ordered payments to Bell Telephone Moore Wallace and others totaling 291 04. drainage issue at Malo Street discussed. rink third payment deferred until completion. A Cannell form committee to govern the rink of two council form and the Reeve and citizens Mac Donald Beardmore and Dills was adopted. Secretary treasurer role to be filled later. Dog tax refunds to be considered after payment.
Macdonald's Christmas Store Toyland offers a wide toy selection for all. Santa Claus will be in Toyland on Saturday from 10 to 11.30 a.m. and again from 3 to 4.30 p.m. to greet children.
Advertisements list a farm for sale near Dacbyville with 12 ½ acres and a large poultry complex, plus a 150 acre stock farm in Acton with a seven room stone house and barn. Other notices include a request for a piano for the Acton Public School, donations to the school fund, and various items for sale or rent in the area.
Entered Into Rest a resident of Acton and Glens Falls died after an operation at a Troy hospital. Dr Alfred Hemstreet aged about seventy, born in Acton, married to Maria Ebbage. survived by wife, no children. Also Mrs. LM Moyer of Mespeler died suddenly at the Parsonage, Rev LoM Moyer’s wife, remembered for devoted ministry. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery St Catharines.
J R Mackensier elected mayor by acclamation as no municipal election is held in Georgetown this year. Council and School Board members were also acclaimed, with detailed ward and school trustee assignments listed.
Only the Board of Education drew more than the required candidate count, leaving several municipal offices filled by acclamation. Elected by acclaimation are Reeve A Mason Councillors Dr E J Nelson Co Handen Bt Thetford Co H Harrison Public Utilities Commissioner 1 G King Five candidates seek School Trustees with three to be elected. Ballot order: Geo Agnew E Neswick Pp Wlow A P Havill J Mt McDonald. Polling places: Town Hall and Post Office from 9 am to 1 pm.

The Baptist Church marked its anniversary with two morning and evening services led by Rev. Prof. Gd. FR Gilmour of McMaster University. The day featured choir anthems, quartette duets, and a joint morning service with Now Presbyterian Church attendees. Gilmour preached on Always Beginning, linking Moses, Abraham, and Paul to faith and pilgrimage while urging implicit trust in God. Generous offerings were given by the congregation. Greenock School Christmas Concert set for December 12.
