Short Courses Opened in Acton Attract Large Attendance

The Three Months Short Courses in Elementary Agriculture and Home Economics opened in Acton Parish Hall with 30 young Indies and 38 young men starting that morning. Many more indicated they would enroll. Principal J E B Whitelock introduced staff as area officials wished success for the program. Classes run Monday to Friday from nine to four with a Christmas break December 17 to January 2.

Deer Struck and Killed by Car Near Nassagaweya

Mr Reg Wilbon was driving along the Guelph Road when a young deer darted into the path of his car. The deer was instantly killed. the impact damaged the headlight and grille, but Mr Wilbon remained uninjured and the Game Warden collected the carcass.

New YMCA Supervisor Takes Charge of Building and Activities
