Acton Women's Institute Hosts Shower for Fire Victims
Mrs. Wm. Evans hosted a 45 guest shower from the Acton Women's Institute for Mr. and Mrs. Grant McMillan and Miss Donna who lost their home to a fire. Guests received pantry and kitchen gifts, bedding parcels from Woodside Red Cross and Ranndéckburn WT, and a poacheck from the Acton Branch. Mr. and Mrs McMillan thanked the organizers for the thoughtful gifts. Lunch followed the social time.

Mrs Amos Mason welcomed the Duke of Devonshire chapter to its November meeting. Reports on finances were adopted. Tag Day for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind raised 1208 dollars, while the bazaar netted 387 dollars.
