Acton Water Rates Set for Rural Residents
Township residents will pay double Acton sewer and water rates, with new installation charges and a revised rate system approved Tuesday night. Mayor Duby and Councillor Mosales opposed the higher charges, arguing rural residents already pay less than Milton, while Deputy Reeve Oakes defended water sales as a business. New charges set include installation and monthly tows, with actual costs plus a $150 finance, and out-of-town rates at ten dollars bi-monthly.

Acton Council Reverses Mall Motions Over Parking Fears
Acton council rescinded two motions from the prior meeting favoring a mall in the business district and asked the clerk to assist the Chamber of Commerce in securing more parking. Officials rejected complaints about insufficient off street parking, citing a long debate and a recirculated petition showing eight in favor and twenty opposed. The mayor defended the Chamber and the decision to revisit the mall issue, while Ted Tyler argued the petition misrepresented business owners and truck owners.
