Corner stone ceremony marks Oakville Legion Hall
More than five hundred people attended the Sunday ceremony for the new Legion Hall. Mrs. Malcolm Smith was elected president of the Home and School Club at its yearly meeting held Monday afternoon at Mrs. Frank Pullen's home. Tom Storey, 17, drowned when his canoe capsized about 200 yards off Reynolds Street Tuesday evening. The 2% voice boy choir and the 60 mixed voice choir of Oakville Central School won championship trophies at the Halton Music Festival in Milton last Thursday.

Easy Marinade Method To Preserve Beef In Warm Weather
A simple marinade using vinegar and oil helps preserve beef for a day or two in warm weather. Coat the meat in a mixture of one part vinegar to two or three parts oil in a covered earthenware dish, rub into crevices, and keep it chilled. The acid tenderizes meat while oil improves flavor, requiring the vinegar to oil ratio be adjustable to two or three parts vinegar to one part oil for tenderizing.
