Representatives from municipalities in the Credit Valley Conservation Authority met in Brampton where A H Richardson chief conservation engineer presented an official long report on history land forestry water recreation and wildlife in the watershed. The 1954 started compilation aims as a pattern for years to come with maps charts and pictures and explanations by conservation staff. Six Cubs Represent Acton at Port Colborne Cubaree

Acton Council read a first by law for paving most town streets with exceptions in Glenlea Lakeview Braida and Third Line subdivisions. In Waterdown the two mile open road race featured seven Acton youths in a 47 runner field. Bruce Andrews John Brown and Bob Allenby placed 14th 29th and 34th with Guelph Legion. Detmar Watson led Acton Y with 18th. Acton Y aims for 13 meets ahead including Toronto Highland Games in June and 12 invitations to events such as the Canadian National Exhibition.

Natives of Eden Mills Mr and Mrs Charles Roberts marked 50 years of marriage with a gathering at their Moffat home. They wed in Eden Mills on May 23 1906 and later lived in Arkell before settling in Moffat for 30 years. They have three children and three grandchildren Edna in Guelph Albert at home and Bill in Walnut Springs Texas due home later this month.

Former Officer Injured in Highway Collision Near Acton
Constable Donald Cook, recently transferred from Acton to Waterdown, was injured when his Pro vincial Police cruiser was rear bumped by Lawrence Toole, 22, of Winona on the Queen Elizabeth Highway near Stoney Creek. Cook suffered neck and back injuries and was released from hospital. Toole had minor injuries. Traffic was halted east of Acton for safety checks during the holiday period.

Provincial police in the Acton area reported three weekend crashes. Harold Lippert of Kitchener drove through guard rails on No. 7 highway at Norval causing $150 damage. A two-car sideswipe on a hill on the Sixth Line Nassagawega caused $600 damage. A Brooklynville and Acton pair collided at No. 7 Highway and First Line Esquesing with $600 damage.
