Halton MP Dr Harry Harley told the Free Press this week he strongly disapproved of Canadian National Railways tactics to close or suspend Acton station services. He noted profitable operations when full services existed and warned the railway’s plan to run Acton from a Guelph agency risks harming local users and jobs. A three-member committee is gathering facts for a hearing, while only station agent Charlie Pere vya remains with duties reduced.
