Acton Continuation School Names New Assistant and Raises
At a special Acton School Board meeting Donald Wo Mclean of Lucknow was hired as the new assistant for Acton Continuation School at a salary in the gram range. Principal Stewart’s salary was approved at 2400 dollars. Heatley’s salary was adjusted to 1300 to match other teachers. The board approved new science room equipment costing 1090 dollars with no delivery guarantee for months. The secretary reported a new duplicator delivered and school funds of 100 dollars in primes as part payment have been received.

The Acton Y's Men Club staged the Samuel French royalty play Nothing but the Truth at Town Hall for three nights. Cadets Show Fine Drill At Acton Inspection Friday
Acton Continuation School Cadet Corps displayed sharp drill and appearance at the annual inspection led by Major Heal. The event, held in the arena, featured assistance from Lorne Scots Captain Whittaker and staff, with pipers and army vehicles on hand. After the review the cadets demonstrated first aid and mortar, rifle, and smoke shell procedures before gaining a half day holiday.

Acton Man Injured After Rockwood Car Crash
In Rockwood on Saturday a car driven by John Sdezypeciak struck a hydro pole causing high tension wires to fall. Passenger Joseph Rafka of Acton sustained cuts to the nose and forehead. Police charged Sdezypetak with careless driving. he is to appear May 28. Unemployment claims filed in February total 59,0948, the first monthly rise since October 1945.
