Burglars Steal Goods From Rachlin Store in Acton
Burglars entered the Indies and Gents furnishings store of B D Rachlin in Acton around three am on a Wednesday, looting men’s clothing valued at 500 to 600 dollars. They took fifteen suits, six pairs of shoes, twelve shirts, a dozen neckties and about two dozen socks while cash and jewelry were untouched. The thieves used a 1939 Chevrolet, with two men inside and a third in a waiting car. An alarm triggered, sending the burglars fleeing. witnesses noted the car and license number. Chief McPherson and Provincial Officer Oliver began investigations. the car went west then turned at Main Street and back east, suggesting a stolen vehicle.

Two Killed When Auto Crashes into Tree Sunday
William McKee thirty years old a resident of Acton for the past two years and Robert Myéré thirty three of Hamilton who had been visiting here were killed just after midnight Saturday when the automobile driven by McKee left the road at a curve six miles east of Acton. The car a 1931 Port coupe was smashed beyond repair. Both men suffered fractured skulls and multiple injuries. The accident occurred at a slight bend on Highway No. 7 near Georgetown. No eye witnesses were reported. Coroner Dr McNiven and Chief Marshall investigated and McKee's body was moved to a funeral home.
