It approved paying relief accounts totaling 270.91 and ordered payments for E E Bossence, E Grespan, Municipal World, Alex Lawson, and Austin Dredge, plus a road schedule of 150.05 and relief fund 137.33, and insured township with Lloyds of London for 360.00. A by law to appoint quarterly auditors for 1935 was introduced and read a second time.

Acton School Board Adopts Salary Increases And Purchases
At the monthly meeting the Acton School Board, with Chair J M McDonald, approved reengagement salaries for most teachers, with Young to rise by 50 and Mrs Hunt by 75, and authorized purchases including science table, books, and supplementary French texts. The board also thanked drivers who provided transportation to the Musical Festival and delegated funds for a lawn mower and curtain repairs.

Rockwood Adopts Daylight Saving for Police Village
At the May 13 1935 meeting in Rockwood Hall Reeve Sims McLean led a full council. A by law adopted daylight saving for the Police Village of Rockwood for July and August 1935. The council passed unemployment relief of 170.57 and granted 10.00 to the Plowmen's Association. It ordered 172.66 paid to the County treasurer for highway relief, and extended tax arrears payments. Indian felon Glen Rogers jailed for break in Georgetown
Frank Speicher alias Glen Rogers an Indian of Brantford convicted of breaking and entering Frank Sykes residence in Georgetown on May 1. Judge Munro sentenced him to two years six months in Kingston penitentiary. Provincial Magistrate Meclveen later charged him with escaping police while en route to Burwash reformatory on August 10. fingerprints by Constable Cookman identified him as the escapee. He received a second concurrent sentence of five years. John Jone of Esquesing Township convicted of stealing 75 bushels of grain from John Scott of Limehouse and jailed 15 days.
